I've been full time day trading now since August 1st. I've tried to do this a couple of times now over the last 2 years. Each time has been a learning experience...meaning I mostly lost money, last effort, I lost a lot quickly.
This time around is very different. I have NO distractions, I'm 100% dedicated, this is officially my life. That has made a huge huge difference.
Since May 1st I've been doing this "full" but only since August first have I had the 25k limit to do multiple day trades per day.
For refence my gains have gone as follows(as a % of my total accounts starting balance)
May-5%
June-5%
July-10%
August-75%
As it stands, if September proves to be as fruitful as August, I'll offically have more money than I've had my entire life.
There's a lot of lessons and strategies that I'll be going over in future blogs. But the main take right now is simple.
Trade the move.
This means, understanding stocks patterns and how they relate to my current positions. A stock I'm holding moves up rapidly, I sell rapidly. A gradual rise, I can hold longer for better returns, usually a higher % than a rapid rise in share price.
By acknowledging this type of trade, I've been realizing way better profits. Normally I'd hold a stock, it would shoot up and I'd hold out for better gains, only to have it reverse course and turn into a fat loss. Or I'd be in a position gradually going against me and I'd stay in hoping for it to reserve, only to get ground to paste for a MUCH larger loss than I would have had had I realized this thing is grinding, grinding means it's very very difficult to predict a top/bottom.

I'm back....sort of
Here I go again. A small attempt to catalog the things happening in my life for a non existent audience. I won't bandy word with myself. Shit I'm so beaten and broken right now, I don't recognize myself at all. The person I was a year ago, 2 years ago, is so completely gone. It's like a different life that sometimes clashes with my new one when I run into old friends or talk to people that "know" me.
Life is hard. Very hard. I could cheat, take the easy way out, go back to sitting at a desk hating myself. Make myself less then I already am. I don't want to live some easy life. Making money at a job that is so easy and boring I only think about the weekend's escape. It feels like cheating. Fuck, it IS cheating. I keep asking myself, what would I give to live my dream. Is it worth it not to take the easy route? What's it worth?
